Wind Turbine Farm, Ramat Sirin
The wind turbine farms on the Gilboa and Ramat Sirin, set up by the Afcon Group, are pioneering and innovative projects for generating electricity from green energy through modern wind turbines. These wind farms produce electricity from wind energy through 25 turbines that stand 44 meters high: 14 at the Ma’ale Gilboa Site and 11 at the Ramat Sirin Site – generating a total of about 22MW of clean green electricity. The set-up process began in 2015. This was a complex, challenging engineering project that entailed cutting-edge technology in the field of renewable energy. The farms were connected to the national electricity network in 2016. The projects were executed through a joint effort of most of the Group’s subsidiaries, led by our EPC Energy experts who specialize in planning and executing complex energy and infrastructure projects.
Energy Storage Farm, Dalia Energies Power Station (EPC)
A project for planning and executing the largest energy storage farm in Israel, with a capacity of 16/88MWh. Afcon Holdings is a pioneer in Israel, having set up the first facility for high voltage battery storage. Afcon won the tender held by Dalia Energies to set up a large-scale energy storage facility on the power station’s land, adjacent to Kfar Menahem. This energy storage facility is based on LFP batteries with a capacity of 88MWh. Set up in 2022, this is the largest storage facility in Israel. The project conveys Afcon’s dominance in conducting such projects and introducing innovative technologies in the field of renewable energy. The entire project was planned and executed by the Group’s subsidiaries, led by EPC Energy experts, who specialize in the planning and execution of complex infrastructure and energy projects.
Faculty of Biochemistry, Weizmann Institute, Rehovot
Construction of the Faculty of Biochemistry at the Weizmann Institute. This project included construction finishing work and system installation, covering an area of about 35,000 sqm, including laboratories, offices, lecture rooms, and an auditorium, as well as acoustic partitions, steel constructions, electric works, low voltage, structure control, air conditioning, plumbing, and elevators.
Faculty of Biotechnology Engineering, Ben Gurion University of the Negev
Construction of the Faculty of Biotechnology Engineering at the Ben Gurion University of the Negev. This included building a concrete skeletal frame combined with cladding systems, including steel construction, fiber-cement elements, screen walls, and aluminum cassettes, electrical systems and low voltage, air conditioning systems, laboratory-specific systems, plumbing, complex finishing work, and elevators.
Global Tower, Petah Tikva
Located in Petah Tikva, this complex includes commercial spaces, an office building, and underground carparks, covering 110,000 SQM, Afcon executed the skeletal work, finishing works, and a range of cutting-edge systems. The project was conducted in cooperation with the BST Group for construction and development.
Magistrates Court, Tiberias
Planning and executing a build-operate-transfer (BOT) project.
Blood Bank, Ramla
A cooperation between the Afcon Group and Minrav led to the winning of the tender for building the national blood bank and logistics center for the Magen David Adom ambulance service in Ramla. This unique project was the first of its kind in the world – a new building that coordinates all of the organization’s logistics and pharmaceutical activities for the national blood bank. The building covers about 49,000 sqm and contains state-of-the-art laboratories and storage facilities. The building is shielded and secure, as required of healthcare facilities in routine and emergency times, with much of the building being constructed underground for safety reasons.
