Solar Roofs (EPC Energy)

A 3,000 sqm solar roof with a 550 kWp capacity. This project entailed replacing the roof, as requested by the customer. Afcon’s Engineering and Execution Department conducted the planning, procurement, and setup. The Afcon Group’s EPC Division performs a range of solar projects on structures, parking lots, reservoirs, and farms.

Tel Aviv Light Rail, Red Line

The Afcon Group took part in the Red Line Project for the Light Rail in Tel Aviv, led by Afcon Control & Automation, who planned, delivered, and installed fire extinguishing systems, PA systems, SCADA control systems for managing electricity, and safety systems along the line, including along the 12km tunnel, overground stations, and transformer stations. The Red Line covers 12kms overland and 12kms underground, and is comprised of 10 underground stations, 24 overground stations, and 8 transformer stations.
This unique project includes fire detection systems, a PA system, and safety systems – all connected to the SCADA systems for supervisory control and data acquisition, in both routine and emergency times. The project was planned, executed, and assessed subject to the strict supervision and regulations of international organizations, including WSP and Deutsche Bahn, and local ones, including the Standards Institution of Israel and the National Fire and Rescue Authority.

Mobileye Campus, Har Hahotzvim, Jerusalem

Conducted as a BOT project, Afcon constructed the renowned Mobileye Campus in Jerusalem, where the company’s global development center is now situated. This iconic building is a milestone for the integration of hi-tech centers in Jerusalem, and is the largest R&D center to have been built in Israel in recent years. The building, that covers an area of 140 thousand sqm, complies with the LEED standard for green structures and is considered a smart campus. The Mobileye campus includes offices, laboratories, testing areas, recreational spaces, and more. Planned and executed to the highest standards, the entire campus was built by Afcon Group subsidiaries.

Electrification Project, Israel Railways

This electrification project is Israel Railway’s flagship project of this decade. The aim of the project was to enable the powering of trains using electricity instead of diesel, in order to meet the growing demand for train services in Israel. As part of the project, Afcon built and operates about 14 train transformer stations that connect the railway tracks to electricity. Works included construction work, installation and operating of gas-insulated high-voltage switchgear (GIS), and connecting the system to the Israel Electric Company’s national network, as well as installing and connecting 45 Mva power transformers to low voltage boards. The Group also installed protection and command boards for both Israel Railways and the Israel Electric Company. The project also included the installing of controlled air conditioning systems, fire detection systems, and plumbing.

South Port, Ashdod

A planning and execution project. A successful cooperation between the Afcon Group and Shafir Civil and Marine Engineering led to the winning of this tender, for setting up a significant part of the new South Port in Ashdod. As part of this project, Afcon planned and set up all electric infrastructure and supporting structures in the port for the Swiss TIL company. Choosing Afcon highlights the Group’s leadership in the field of electric infrastructure in Israel. The cooperation and excellent integration of most of the Group’s subsidiaries – in executing such a complex and integrated project – enabled high quality professional planning and execution solutions, with an emphasis on safety and schedules.
